You may Call Now to speak with a Benefits coach from Monday to Friday, during 9AM–6PM (EST) or Schedule A Call at a later date and time. If you call and a Benefit Coach is unavailable, they will schedule a date and time to call you back. Calls will come from a 727 area code.

Dental Benefits Resources

Learn how to make use of your Mutual of Omaha dental plan.

At the Dentist
  1. Go to MutualofOmaha.com/dental

  2. Click on the "Access Member Benefit Information" link and select the "Register Now" button.

  3. Enter your Member ID number (located on your member ID card) or the last 4 digits of your Social Security Number and follow the instructions to create your username and password.

 

NOTE: Due to HIPAA, a spouse and adult children will have to register separately.

Once logged in, you can...

  • View benefits info, eligibility, and claims.

    • Including the individuals included under your plan.
    • ​​​​​Use the "Claims" tab to find your historical claim data from past appointments.
  • Print/view Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) from the "Documents" tab.

  • Locate a provider by zip code or address.

  • Access the Dental Wellness Center.

  • Download a Claim Form for out-of-network providers.

Q: Can I add a dependent to my insurance?

A: Yes, although only during Open Enrollment, or with a Qualifying Event.


Q: What is a Qualifying Event?

A: There are many situations that could be considered a qualifying event, although the most common are:

  • Loss of Health Coverage: Losing job-based coverage, turning 26 and aging off a parent's plan, divorce, or losing Medicaid/CHIP eligibility.

  • Household Changes: Getting married or divorced, having a baby, adopting a child, or death of a family member on your plan.

Q: What information is needed to add a dependent to my insurance?

A: You’ll need to provide their name, birth date, and Social Security Number to your insurance representative.

Q: Can I drop my medical coverage?

A: Medical coverage cannot be “dropped” outside of open enrollment. Instead, you can decide not to reenroll in that coverage during open enrollment.

Q: What is Open Enrollment?

A: Open Enrollment is a time of the year, usually a month or so, when all employees company wide enroll in their benefits for the year. Just like your car insurance, your company provided health benefits expire every year, so we must re-enroll annually.

Q: Can I drop my Dental insurance?

A: No, you cannot drop dental insurance. As with health insurance, changes can only be made during open enrollment or when you have a qualifying event.

Q: Can I drop my Vision insurance?

A: Vision insurance can only be added or dropped during open enrollment or due to a qualifying event.

Q: What are Ancillary Benefits?

A: Ancillary Benefits are voluntary benefits and include all our benefits options OTHER THAN medical coverage. (Examples: Short Term Disability, Long Term Disability, Critical Illness, etc.)

Q: Can I drop some or all of my Ancillary Benefits?

A: Yes, you can drop some or all your Ancillary Benefits at any time. Just notify your insurance representative to do so.
